Lame Lame Lame!

So I figured that it was about time I actually posted something! I was just looking through my post history and found 3 posts that I started and never finished! LAME! i can't believe how much things have changed since my last official post! Rather than trying to back-track a year and a half (Oh my!), I will just start fresh. I am also just on my school computer so pics are limited to none :( But I did cut and paste a few of our family pics from Nicole Baldwin's blog. She is the one who took our pics. She did an amazing job!!!

It was fun to do pictures with the Christensen's again this year! We are so lucky to have found another family that we all get along so well with! It has been a blast watching the babies grow up together. They are so funny! You can see how much they love each other... :)

She's Here!

Piper Ririe Thayne made her grand debut last night (August 3) at 9:09 pm.  She weighed 6 lbs 13 oz and was 19 inches long.  She has red hair!  According to grandma she came out with her eyes opened and screamed until she got her mommy.  Both are doing well.  We missed the birth by 20 minutes :(  She is beautiful!  Here are a couple photos...

Yay for David!

I don't have all my pictures yet to write about our Michigan trip but I just couldn't wait to talk about David and Lindsey! He proposed the night before we left (Friday) and we were so excited that she said YES! I asked when the big day was and they told me that it would not be for awhile so I was shocked to hear they worked everything out to be married on Monday! I'm so excited for them but bummed that we missed it by a couple of days. Here is a picture of their cute little family!

I'm 4 months!

I guess 4 months is that magical age that you try everything out. As of today Z has finally had enough! What follows is our whirlwind 4 days of being 4 months!

He turned 4 months on Saturday while we were down in Beaver for the weekend. It was a learning experience for all! He hates staying up late, loves nature, and really does know how to throw a tantrum! I thought making him be outside in the sun the whole time would curb his hatred of it.. NOPE! He was only happy in the shade. But we were still able to have lots of fun: we went hiking, fishing, walking, and jeeping. Too bad he missed out on shooting (it happened after bedtime)!

On Monday Z got his 4 month shots and came through like a champ! The nurses called him the little trooper because he didn't cry. He only made his infamous sad face- bottom lip sticking waaaayyyy out! He also was told that he is ready for rice cereal so we tried it that night of course! Too bad we waited until he was starving! We gave up and gave him a bottle to calm him down which he downed in seconds! Then started spoon feeding him. He was good about eating it until he realized it was slow in coming and started howling for more food! We eventually gave up.

Today (Tuesday) we went to the city pool. He was all dressed in his swim diaper, swim trunks, t-shirt, and sunglasses ready to face the sun with a smile. That is until he realized he had to leave the shade to get to the water. He screamed and cried the entire time we were there. Luckily "the entire time" was pretty short (only about an hour) and most of it was spent in the stroller, in the shade. Go figure kid!
I wonder what other firsts I'll find for him this month!

Bath Time Excitement!

So I guess I'm not any better at posting with school being out! I wish I had pictures for this posting but my camera is being dumb (AGAIN!) so you'll just have to imagine it...

So a couple weeks ago Scot took me out to dinner at Olive Garden. It was nice and the first time we'd been anywhere nice since Zan was born. When we got home it was bath time so Scot said he'd take Charley out if I'd start the bath. We'd been having a good conversation so he said he'd be back in a minute to finish. I was fine with that so I undressed Zander and put him into the bathtub. I picked up the washcloth, put soap on it, and turned around to see the tub full of poop. No big deal since Scot would be back any minute. We had a system worked out for just this situation. As I was waiting Zan started playing in the water like usual which made me gag everytime he brought his hands up to his mouth. I figured Scot really would be there any minute now so I'd lift him up out of the water and wait for Scot. Soon after I heard the garage door go up. Weird, but that means he's on his way inside. Halfway up it goes down.

Then halfway up.

Back down.

All the way up.

Down.

I'm going to kill Scot now. As Scot is practicing making the garage door go up and down, Zander is busy pooping and kicking which means only one thing- he's pooping on his legs and feet. I'm trying to dip Zan into the water to get the poop off, but as I lower him toward the water he pulls his legs and feet up and smiles at me. I'm glad someone is enjoying themselves! At this point I figure I'm on my own so I try to decide what to do. I don't want to get poop all over his towel, but I don't want to put him back into poopy water either. My arms were dying so I set Zander back in the water and held his arms up into the air trying to figure out if I could run downstairs, open the door, yell at Scot, and run back upstairs all without Zander touching the water or drowning. Luckily I didn't have to try it because the front door opened. I screamed at Scot to hurry and he does (only because he thinks I let Zander drown he later tells me).

We decide to wash out his tub and put it in our shower because we have this thing on our shower head that comes down. We're going to use that to rinse Zander off because using a cup to pour water on the poop isn't working. So we get moved in to the other room and start rinsing Zander off. I tell Scot to be quick because I just know that he is going to scream with the water being sprayed on him. When Scot finishes and takes the sprayer off Zan, he starts screaming bloody murder. We finally figure out that he actually likes being hosed down. Go figure! Well its a good thing bath time isn't always this exciting or I'd rethink giving him a bath!

Girls Day Out (Plus Zan!)

Mom, Megs, Joyce, Robyn, Olivia, Zan and I all went out for the day on Monday. It was supposed to be girls day, but Zan is so cute we just couldn't tell him no!
We hit Joann's first, but didn't see any fabulous deals. We left empty-handed (lucky for Scot!). Then it was off to the greatest baby store ever... BABINKSKI'S! Robyn and I love that place! Its a little overpriced, but so fun to look at! We also like the yummy cafe next door. I think we spent more time in their than anywhere else! I can't wait to have everyone together again for another girls day out (plus Zan!)!

Zander's Blessing Day

Zander was blessed on Sunday, May 24, 2009. He was surrounded by all of his family and friends who came despite the crazy, stormy weather. We appreciate their love and support. After the blessing, we had a small get-together at Great Grandma and Grandpa Falk's house. There was lots of yummy food and fun!
